Playing in the Band

It has been almost 9 years since I have played in the band at church.  I quit playing after I got married and started going to church in Godfrey.  The main reason that I didn’t play in the band in Godfrey was because I didn’t have a saxophone to play.  The one that I used in St. Louis belonged to the church, so I couldn’t bring it with me.  I really miss playing my saxophone.  Every time they play a fast song I miss it!!!! 

Well, now I am rambling.  But anyway,  I was talking to Scott the other day and telling him that I really would like to get back in the band, but there is only one thing hindering me……NO SAXOPHONE!!!!!  Now that they have changed band practice times I can make it to band practice,  I just need to find a horn.  I looked on ebay and all the saxophones on there were really expensive, so my hopes got diminished there.  So last Sunday in between services I called my mom and asked her if she would ask Bro. Miller if he would be willing to sell the saxophone that I used to play to me.  She said that she would and then Diana Fischer, a very good friend of mine that is the piano player at Bro. Millers told my mom that they would give me her mother’s saxophone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I was SHOCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!  It is a beautiful horn.  After her mother died, she had it restored and it looks like a brand new saxophone.  I told her that I couldn’t just take the horn, but she said she knew that is was going to someone who was going to use it to play for the Lord and not for anything else!!!!!!!!! 

So now I will be part of the band in Godfrey and I couldn’t be happier!!!  I am truly very blessed!!!!!!!!

It’s My Birthday!!!

On Tuesday, January 13, 1981, I was born.  It was 11:30 am when I entered this world.  Now today I am all grown up, I am 28 today.  Sometimes I still think of myself as a teenager, but sadly, I’m not!!!  I am an only child.  Maybe that’s why I have 3 kids.  I am going out to lunch today and then hopefully we will go out tonight for dinner.  I don’t want to have to make dinner on my birthday!!  Here are some pics of me when I was a baby.  I can see all of my kids in me when I was little.

10 Year Highschool Reunion

I don’t know what made me think of this today but this year is going to be 10 years since I graduated high school. I loved high school. Sometimes I wish i could go back to my school days. All I had to worry about was if I had my homework done or if I studied long enough for a test I had. And not worry about Iif we’re going to have enough money to pay our bills this month or trucking kids here and there. Oh, well. Here are few pics of my graduation day and my graduation party. Look at how thin I was. I am going to look like that again.

Leaving My Pounds on the Line in 2009

Ok, I know that sounded cheesy, but I needed something to rhyme with 2009.  I am soooo fat.  I am going to join Weight Watchers.  I told Scott that I want to loose 50 pounds this year.  I know that I will never look like I did before I had 3 kids, but I hate the way I am right now.  I look and feel disgusting.  So I am going to try to walk at least 3 times a week.  I am going to start cooking better and no fast food.  I know that sounds difficult to do, but I am sure going to try.

I told Scott that I wanted to loose 50 pounds.  He has no confidance in me.  But I am going to do it.  And I’m going to look SMOKIN’!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am determined to do this.  I’ve tried to do this before, but now it is going to happen.

All Is Calm

Well, it is the day after Christmas.  All the presents have been opened, all the ham and turkey have been eaten and all the cookies, cakes, pies and sweets have been eaten.  We had a really good Christmas.  On Christmas eve my mom and dad came over and brought pizza with some presents for the kids to open.  Then on Christmas day the kids got up early ( of course),  and came into our room to wake us up.  So we got up and the kids all opened up their presents.  Then we got ready and went to my cousin Kim’s house.  We ate, opened presents, ate some more, opened some more presents and then ate some more. 

Hope that everyone had a good Christmas too!!!!!!!!

We Finally Got High Speed!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a long time coming.  We finally leaped into the internet age and got high speed.  We live out in the middle of nowhere, but yet we are close to major cities like Waterloo, Columbia, and of coarse, St. Louis.  But we had to go through Verizon but we finally got it!!!

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  I sure did.  On Wed. before Thanksgivng we went over to Scott’s brother, Bryan, house for dinner.  We had a good time over there.  Then on Thanksgiving I had it at my house.  It just also happened to be our yougest daughter’s birtday.  Laura turned 2.  I can’t believe that she is 2 already.  She’s not my baby anymore.  She talks so plain and we are now in the throws of potty training.  Please pray for me.  She is a very strong willed and spirited little girl.  This process is not going to be easy!!!!!!  Oh Well.

I hope that everyone will have a great Christmas.  This Friday night we are having Scott’s family over to celebrate our Christmas with each other.  We have to do it early because Scott’s brothers, Michael and Bryan, go to Kentucky to spend Christmas with their wives families.

What is My Name?

Here recently, Laura, my almost 2 year old has decided to call daddy by his first name, Scott.  It is cute when she says it, but it really got him upset.  Well, the other day in the car all of a sudden Laura goes, “Stephanie, Stephanie!!”  I will have to admit that it was funny, but i did tell her that I will not answer to that name.  Then Katie replied, “Well, that’s what daddy calls you!!”"  Oh well, I just don’t answer her until she says “Mommy”, or what she says too, “MomMom”!!!!

Happy Birthday to my Benjamin Joseph and to my Dad

Ok, so I’m a little late with this post.  Monday, Sept. 29th, was my son, Benjamin’s, birthday.  He was 7.  I can’t believe how big he is getting.  He is growing up so fast.  All of my kids are growing up too fast.  I still remember bringing him home and he had to sleep in a billie light bed for the first 2-3 nights he was home.  Porr thing had to sleep in that thing naked, no diaper, nothing.  I felt so bad for him.  But he is now a healthy 1st grader that is a litte too smart for his own good sometimes!!!!!!!  But I love him so much and I don’t know what I would do without hime!!!!!!!!!!!!!   The day after Benjamin’s birthday was my dad’s birtday.  On the 30th.   He was 53.  Me and my dad are just alike.  We are both stubborn.  I guess that’s the Italian in us!!!!!!!!!!!!  We both have the same sense of humor and we both like the same kinds of movies.  I think that both of our favorite movie is Christmas Vacation.  That movie has both of us rolling on the floor and laughing sooooo hard.  It is the best movie.  Anyway,  I just wanted to say happy birthday to just a couple of special men in my life.  In just 2 weeks I will be posting about the most special man in my life as it will be his birthday.  So be on the look out!!!!!!!!!!

Jeffrey Got the Holy Ghost

I know that most of you don’t know who Jeffrey is.  He’s my cousin.  If you were at my wedding, he was my ring bearer.  His mom was my matron of honor.  She was the one that was 8 1/2 months pregnant.  Anyway, Kim has been coming back to church now for the last 3-4 years.  She grew up in the church on Tesson Ferry, Bro. Jolly’s church.  Well now she is going to Bro. Miller’s with my mom and dad.  Now just recently her husband, who also grew up in the Tesson Ferry church, has come with her.  Well, Jeffrey is 12 and has been wanting the Holy Ghost now for quite a while.  Well, last sunday he finally got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My mom called me last sunday night after church and told me.  I was so happy for him.

Happy Birthday to My Katie Marie!!!!

Tomorrow on Aug. 23rd will be Katie’s 4th birthday.   Oh my goodness, i just can’t believe that my first born girl is going to be 4 already.  I was induced a week early with her because my doctor told me I could.  Now looking back on that I probably should have waited at least until my due date.  I was in labor with her for 18 loooooooooooong hours.  But when she came out she was so beautiful.  When the nurses had her all cleaned up and they handed her to me both me and Scott noticed something on her lip and it also looked like there was a scar coming down from her nose to her lip.  When we noticed it we had everyone that was in ther to look at it.  We all said it looked like she was supposed to have had a hairlip and that God healed her of it when she was in the womb.  To this day if you look really close at her upper lip you can still see that she has a scar.  It is amazing what the Lord can do, even when you don’t know that anything is wrong.  Because when I had my ultrasound for her the doctor didn’t say anything was wrong.  Oh well, she is healthy and such a happy little girl now.  I love her so very much!!!
